William Tell is a veteran who has returned from the Battle of Jerusalem and has established a simple family as a hunter.
He lives a peaceful life with his family in the Swiss valley, not wanting to see the horrors of war. He also believes in God and helps others.
While living like this, he is called upon to help a tax collector who attacked him cross a stormy lake. Tell, who follows the path of God, helps him cross the stormy lake without fear.
On the other hand, the tax collector he helped attacked is a powerful Austrian king, so the king is furious and sends the duke to arrest the culprit and save his honor.
The Count was a cruel man who burned down every village in Switzerland until he found the culprit. In order to show his power, the Swiss people, who were originally not friendly with each other due to ethnic problems, started to fight against Austrian rule and prepared to attack the Austrian army. This film is a wonderful and mysterious depiction of the 14th century Swiss patriot hero Wilhelm Tell. It is set against a stunning backdrop of mountains and forests and depicts the oppression and exploitation of towns and villages under the rule of the warlords.
